Monster U.S. online jobs guide soars in August

Monster Worldwide Inc MNST.O>, an online careers and recruiting firm, said its job guide surged to 121 in August, up 6 percent from 114 in July.

It was the biggest monthly grow the guide has seen since August 2005.

The guide was down 24 percent from a reading of 159 a year ago, marking the most moderate year-over-year decline in 2009.

Though labour openings posted online are at their lowest in almost two and a half years, there are signs job may rotate about in the close by term.

"The important leap in the Monster Employment Index in August offers encouraging signs of betterment in the U.S. economy with the order representing managers and professionals as satisfactorily as sales and business workers picking up in period representing the descend hiring season," said Jesse Harriott, elder immorality president at Monster.
